Golf Gear Review

There's a plethora of golf clubs on the market to choose from. So how do you know which golf set is right for you?

There are many factors you should consider when purchasing a new or used golf set. Simply buying the clubs that look the best is a mistake many golfers make. Take your time and don't make the mistake of an impulse purchase.

1) Skill Level: The first thing you should take into account is your skill level.

Novice: If you just picked up a set of clubs a few weeks ago, try purchasing a golf set with a large backed cavity. The larger the cavity, the easier it is to hit a crisp golf ball. The cavity makes the sweet spot on the club much larger and ultimately more forgiving.

Intermediate: After playing for a while, you learn your physical ability as a golfer. At this point in your golfing career, its time to invest in a decent golf set. Golf Irons with a cavity are not necessary, but maybe blades aren't for you just yet. Steel golf irons are intrinsic.

Advanced: At this stage in your golf career, you should have a nice set of blade style golf irons. These will allow you to control your shots to the best of your ability.

2) Strength: Knowing your strength before purchasing a golf set is imperative. You have the choice of purchasing either steel or graphite golf irons. Graphite shafts are lighter than steel shafts, but don't offer the same benefits.

Graphite: Lower strength, slower swing speed.
It's difficult to hit down on the ball with graphite's because of the flex. Graphite's are available in stiff, but still lack the strength of steel. Also, a faster swing speed will force the graphite's to bend on the downswing.

Steel: Higher Strength, faster swing speed.
Steel golf irons should be purchased by the intermediate to advanced golfer. Steel golf irons are much stronger and offer the best in accuracy and distance. For golfers with a higher strength and faster swing, steel golf irons are for you.

3) Height: The last piece to the puzzle.

Not many golfers realize that their height is a large factor in perfecting a golf game. When purchasing golf irons, you should have them custom fitted to your size. Don't just purchase them off the display! Having custom fitted clubs is essential to making better ball contact. The right sized golf club allows your arm extension to be parallel to the ground. The right size golf irons means you'll get a better feel and ultimately better shots.

Having the rights clubs is the first step to success, but having a good grip is what will transform your golf game. When you purchase a set of new clubs, you should get the grips changed immediately. To save the most money, golf companies purchase the cheapest grips. Do yourself a favor and get new grips.

To achieve a more advanced grip, you can also purchase a product called Quick Grip. This product is great for old or new grips. Not only does Quick Grip reduce moisture, but it also allows the clubface to remain square to the ball on contact. This will improve your accuracy and distance.
